PROGRAM
Si, a former Marine, shared that he has delivered over 15,000 packages to the troops in the combat zone (40-50 boxes every week).  He shared there are very limited supplies for the troops, especially for women so the delivery of the boxes is most critical.  He is sending boxes to 14 countries as well as ships.  Each box has $40-50 worth of supplies that have been specially asked for by the troops.  Si then shared some information about ISIS controlling 1/3 of both Syria and Iraq.  Beginning in 2015, the Afghan mission was transferred to NATO.  10,000 United States troops are currently serving, and will likely stay until the end of 2016.

Si also shared concern about the ISIS, stating they had significant equipment, and control of territory.  They also have a well-funded operation (2 billion) and have significant presence on many media outlets.  It is reported that over 100 US citizens have joined the ranks of ISIS as well as hundreds of individuals from other countries.

He left us with copies of e-mails that the troops have sent regarding the boxes Si has mailed as well as a flyer regarding the information on the shipping of boxes.

CLOSING
Carol reminded the club members that there were boxes to mail to the troops for $15.09 each and to please make sure they all were picked up today

We continued with the new process for the 50/50; the pot stands at $113, Rich Riedel, had the winning ticket and had a chance to draw the white poker chip and win the pot, or draw the black poker chip and have the pot continue to next week – unfortunately Rich was a loser and the pot was a winner.
