Getting to Know David Owens, Umpire - A Journey From Youth Sports to Cal Poly

Recently Judy Salamacna interviewed David for my Moving Forward Series for Estero Bay News and heard some wonderful stories about David’s other career refereeing recreation and college sports. He called his work "the third team on the field or court.” He loves the work because he becomes an integral part of the game rather than a spectator. He will share his journey from youth recreational sports to “putting out the flags” as we say in NASCAR at Cal Poly.
